Freelance Journalist Reviews a Weekend Seminar

Wow; what a weekend! Alan and I recently spent a Friday evening and two very full days with Caroline and Charles Muir, Michael Stillwater and a wonderfully willing and courageous group of people. Our count was sixty-three souls, plus a few brave individuals who arrived by themselves.

I refer to all of us as courageous because we were all willing to show up with the sensitivity and the strength of our vulnerabilities. As time suspends and expands under special circumstances, what we were calling a weekend work- shop was a much more voluminous and voluptuous experience. We CO-created, with Caroline, Charles and Michael as our guides, a holographic expression—time- less, full, spontaneous, information-packed, tearful, cheerful, intimate, ALIVE!

We spent these special moments making love together, being encouraged by Caroline and Charles, our exemplars. If asked how my weekend went, I'd simply say, "We spent the weekend brewing Love Soup, and swimming in it." Caroline and Charles—both loving, explicit and funny—guided us by their own openness, vulnerability and integrity just showing us how. Michael Stillwater provided the musical ambiance so integral to Tantric Sessions. His impromptu music—reassuring, coaxing, soothing, encouraging, smoothing, enlivening, eloquently addressing—spoke more effectively than mere words could possibly convey. Michael integrated his acoustic guitar and singing so smoothly during the presentations by Charles and Caroline. Gutting to the chase, what's a Tantric gathering without musical expression?

Caroline and Charles covered the Tantric gamut. With all clarity and intention, they explicitly explored the honesty, integrity and beauty, not to mention juiciness, of our own bodies and of our true sexual potential. They elevated, by the truth of their being, our human sexual nature to an integral aspect of our divinity. Again, simply put, they exemplified sexuality as both natural and divine. Due to the infinite possibilities and healing potentials implicit in a CO-creative holo-dynamic expression, I'd say we all experienced the equivalent of many excellent therapy sessions.

In spite of the fact that we were making Love-literally making more of it, experiencing more of ourselves and more of each other, such that the room was tangibly full of it—we remained in our clothing. Or rather, we were clothe until we went home in the evening with our own Beloved to do "homework."

Honoring the truth of Tantric expression, we covered a tremendous amount of "introductory energy and energy refinement work", otherwise called, "Now that I've given myself permission, freed myself to be the sexual being I truly am, made friends with my sexual /life force energy, and am willing to experience and fully own it—what do I do with it; how do I fully and lovingly express it? Amen." Thus having owned, befriended and reveled in the truth of an essential aspect of our beings, we explored various ways to make Love with the Beloved. Choosing a partner (not our own), we harmonized our breathing, and looking deeply into one another's eyes, taking turns, we asked until we each opened to the soft core, "What are you afraid I'll see?"

Loving the Beloved of our own Being, we sang songs of willingness to gaze into our own heats, and shared yoga asanas to open our bodies to heightened energies of awareness. We did group work (a "shakti puja") such that the one who was "a stranger" only moments before, suddenly became the Truth of the Beloved before our very eyes, opening our hearts to ourselves and others with the words, "I am You, I forgive You, I Love You." In between these intense moments of vulnerability, we experienced comedic relief through the grace of both Charles and Michael. We did our homework, and shared the Truth of our Hearts, sometimes tearfully…tears of sorrow, tears of joy and tears of compassion. When we parted company on Sunday evening, it was only after realizing that we each had connected with virtually everyone in our shared experience. I know that I, for one, left having "fallen in Love", heart expanded, carrying the energies of each person away in my own energy field—just as I carry with me during the day the energy of my beloved after we've made Love.

Now that we're back in time, at least twice a day Alan and I come together for our continuing homework of the ten- minute connect. It is immeasurable, what has unfolded in me through my sexual/spiritual expression and for Alan and I together as a result of the experience of 'just a weekend". While Caroline and Charles had clearly planned and organized their presentation, they articulate all of it into a dynamic which had a life and orchestration all its own. While it's possible to give a linear view of the sequence of events, such a step-by-step detailing hardly describes the fullness of the opportunity we all shared. In brief, the Goddess—nonspecific, no-linear, spontaneous, simultaneous, holographic intelligence—showed up to spend the weekend with us. Thus the gifts of the experience are numberless, bountiful and will be unfolding and interweaving with both Alan and I for a long timelessness to come. So be it!!!

And this was just their Beginner's Weekend. Responsibly offering support and encouragement to individuals and couple sin this unfolding process, Caroline and Charles provide some gemlike written reminders, a bibliography, a questionnaire, instructional tapes (Tantric energy work), their book, Tantra:The Art of Conscious Loving©, as well as week-long seminars in Hawaii. We are planning such a week-long visit, since a single weekend in Colorado is only a taste of Hawaiian Paradise.
